If you have been following my blog over the past few years, then the online store Modes4U.com should not be an unfamiliar name to you! For those of you who have yet to discover them, they are an online shop based in Hong Kong selling all kinds of cute stuff, ranging from stationery, accessories, squishies, even stuffed animals, bento boxes and Japanese fabrics!
Most of their cute and kawaii stuff come from Japan, and when they wrote to me again asking for me to do a write up I was delighted! My boy is a big fan of trains especially the Japanese trains. I browsed the Fabric for Boys section and very quickly fell in love with this colorful sketches of trains fabric by Cosmo from Japan.
I made it into a little messenger style bag with a contrasting navy canvas and bright yellow strap. I used the same fabric for the lining so that it looks cute on the inside as well!
A magnetic button to make it easy to open and close.
I made the strap adjustable so he can use it for a long time!
Other than the fabric, Modes4U also sent me a really really cute bento box in the shape of a train! And it is really cool because this is the Shinkansen E5 Hayabusa which is my favorite train color combination of pink and green. We actually saw this train coupled to the E6 Super Komachi at Shinjuku station last year, and it was so exciting all the little boys were crowding around trying to get a closer look!
This bento fits perfectly into the bag! (Yes because I designed it that way :P)
It’s great for a quick snack for school or an excursion. The bento comes with a name sticker and a red elastic band to keep the plastic case tightly secured.
